Springfield Cottage is centrally positioned in the picturesque, quiet, unspoiled village of Chaldon Herring (also known as East Chaldon). Nestling in the Purbeck Hills, Chaldon Herring is in the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty immortalised by Hardy and Powys. Dorset’s Jurassic Coast is only 1.5 miles away. Although only a 10 minute drive from Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door Chaldon Herring benefits from being off the main tourist trail. The cottage is perfect for chilling out in the summer and enjoying cosy breaks in front of the log fire in winter. It is situated in wonderful country for walking and cycling and the cottage has a good collection of routes and guides. The area is also a centre for bird watching, riding and watersports. There is a pub serving real ales and pub grub in the village and two others within walking distance.
